College football insider believes Jim Harbaugh should face significant discipline from NCAA

Once again, Jim Harbaugh finds himself at the center of controversy as head coach of the Michigan Wolverines college football team. Only, this time, it may not have anything to do with him directly. Then again, even though Harbaugh himself is not accused of stealing signals or signs of his opponents, many have a hard time believing the Michigan coach wasn’t aware of what was happening behind the scenes with his football program.

Outside opinions are all over the place on how the NCAA should handle their latest investigation into Michigan. Some believe Harbaugh could face a suspension any day now. Big Ten coaches would love to see Michigan face immediate punishment, but what about college football insider Paul Finebaum?

Making an appearance on ESPN’s First Take, Finebaum took a similar angle to that of Michigan’s biggest rivals, believing a significant suspension for Harbaugh should be in order.

“I think [Jim] Harbaugh should be suspended indefinitely, not allowing him to coach another game, and especially in the playoffs if this investigation continues down the current path. I feel very strongly that the team should not be kept out.”

As one of just seven undefeated teams left in college football in 2023, Michigan ranks second in the current AP poll. But they still have two massive matchups remaining, coming against (9) Penn State this Saturday and (3) Ohio State on Nov. 25. The Wolverines will also take on Maryland on Nov. 18. We’ll see whether Harbaugh is allowed to lead his team for the final three games of their season, but outside pressure is certainly mounting.
