LSU star QB Jayden Daniels has 5 formal meetings with teams at 2024 NFL Combine

Reigning Heisman winner Jayden Daniels of the LSU Tigers is not set to throw at the 2024 NFL Combine in Indianapolis this week. Considered a likely top-six pick in the annual event, Daniels will save that for the LSU Pro day during the spring.

This doesn’t mean that Daniels won’t be the talk of Indianapolis. As of right now, he’s considered the third-best quarterback prospect in the draft behind Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. Of course, Daniels could up his stock big time with a good set of interviews.

According to Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network, Daniels has five formal meetings with interested teams at the NFL Combine.

Some of these teams are more interesting than others. Based soley on the current NFL Draft order, the Minnesota Vikings (11th) and New Orleans Saints (14th) would more than likely have to move up in the draft.

Both Washington (2nd) and New England (3rd) continue to be linked to quarterbacks at the top of the annual event. The latter has also been linked to trade-down scenarios from the third selection.

The consensus No. 1 quarterback is the aforementioned Williams. While Maye is seen as QB2 at this early stage in the pre-draft process, Daniels could jump him when all is said and done.

Minnesota has been linked to potential trade-up scenarios. A lot of that will depend on what happens with Kirk Cousins before the start of NFL free agency. Sure, moving up for Daniels would cost a lot. But he’s just the type of prospect NFL teams are tantalized with.

This past season saw Daniels complete 72% of his passes with nearly 5,000 total yards and 50 touchdowns en route to winning the Heisman.

We’re sure to hear more about him at the NFL Combine moving forward on the week.
