Recently promoted Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges will likely be without both JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
Ahead of Sunday’s huge AFC North rivalry game, Conner has been listed as doubtful (shoulder), while Smith-Schuster is out with his left knee injury.
It’s safe to assume that Conner will not play. He was a limited participant in practice this week and hinted he will need more time to fully recover before putting his body through the rigors of the NFL.
This means Hodges and the Steelers will be without the team’s two top offensive weapons. Needless to say, the phrase “next man up” is a big deal this weekend for the Steelers, who are still alive for a playoff spot in the AFC.
