Ja’Marr Chase makes great catch while holding his opponent’s mouthguard in one hand

Even though he hasn’t had a healthy Joe Burrow this season, Cincinnati Bengals Pro Bowl wideout Ja’Marr Chase often still provides reminders that he’s one of the best receivers in the NFL.

That’s what we say on full display on Sunday, taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a key matchup from Paycor Stadium with backup QB Jake Browning making his first career NFL start.

Clearly, Chase was in his comfort zone catching passes from Browning. So much so, that Chase was even seen casually hauling in a 25-yard-catch while holding a mouthguard in one hand.

But here’s the kicker. That’s not even Chase’s mouthguard. You may have noticed it’s actually yellow. The Bengals’ colors are orange and black. Who’s mouthguard is it?

It’s his opponent, Joey Porter Jr.’s mouthguard, not Chase’s. Somehow Porter’s mouthpiece came out during the play, and Chase wound up catching that too. This guy really does catch everything thrown his way.

Chase has been great all afternoon. Later he showcased his ability to make rapid adjustments while tracking the ball, even after a tipped pass.

Despite playing with a less-effective Burrow for the first 10 games of the season, Chase entered Week 12 ranked 10th in the NFL in receiving yards with 833, and eighth in touchdowns with six.
