Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant stands at 6-foot-2. His opponent during Tuesday’s NBA slate, Victor Wembanyama, stands at 7-foot-4.
One would think that Morant might have a hard time lofting over Wemby for a highlight-reel dunk. Apparently not.
None of this mattered for Morant who rebounded from an ankle injury earlier in the game to put the rookie No. 1 pick on an absolute poster. Check it out. Just sensational.
That’s all sorts of crazy right there. With his wingspan, Wemby doesn’t even have to jump to touch the rim. Even then, Morant was able to blow by the big man for a highlight-reel dunk.
Ja Morant stats (2023-24): 25.2 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 7.8 APG, 47% shooting
In just his seventh game back from a 25-game suspension, Morant got the best of his fellow youngster. He scored 26 points on 7-of-15 shooting with 10 assists as Memphis came out on top by the score of 106-98.
As for Victor Wembanyama, he added 20 points with seven rebounds and four blocks as San Antonio fell to 5-28 on the season.
