The Memphis Grizzlies’ season started on October 25, but not for Ja Morant, who’s been serving a 25-game suspension for flashing a gun during an Instagram Live session. Morant is set to return from his roughly two-month suspension later tonight when the Houston Rockets visit FedExForum.

Yet, before Morant was ready to return to glory, he was assigned to spend time in a league-sponsored program in an effort to help the 24-year-old learn from his mistakes.

Morant’s suspension wasn’t his first incident, which has led some to wonder if his latest trouble will lead to any changes in his behavior. According to the two-time All-Star, he’s now a “better” man after his learning experience.

“Obviously feel like I’m not done learning myself or learning new things,” Morant said when asked about his current perspective of his past actions. “I see why the things that happened, happened. But I can’t say I sit up here and regret it because in the end, I feel like it made me better.”

Ultimately, Morant feels the experience he went through helped teach him more about himself, which he says he has no regrets about.

Now, with the Grizzlies stuck in a 13th-place tie with the Portland Trail Blazers at 6-17 in the Western Conference, Morant can focus on trying to help Memphis climb out of the gutter. Sitting 12 games out of first place, it will be a long road ahead, but the work starts tonight against Houston.
