As about half the United States starts to ease stay-at-home and social distancing restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s increasing confidence that live sports could return in some form here soon.
Indiana is the latest state to announce it’s planning on reopening the economy. According to Governor Eric Holcomb, that will include live sporting events starting on July 4.
This is no small thing. The NBA’s Indiana Pacers could very well start to host games once the season resumes from suspension. This is also a clear indication that Notre Dame football could return in the fall. The status of the college football season has obviously been in question over the past few weeks. This also means that the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts will host games once the season starts in September.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this all works out. Could Indiana be one of the states that host Major League Baseball games? It’s a possibility. NBA games outside of the above-mentioned Pacers could also be in the cards.
