Despite his team being blown out in the NFL Divisional Playoffs on Saturday, Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik is a wanted man.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Slowik will meet with the Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks as the bright offensive mind makes his rounds on the NFL head coach circuit.
Slowik, 36, has already interviewed with the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers.
Part of the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree, Slowik is coming off his first season as the Texans’ offensive coordinator. He led a vastly improved unit that finished 12th in total yards and 13th in points scored. Slowik oversaw an absolutely amazing rookie season from quarterback C.J. Stroud.

It really shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that Slowik is receiving widespread interest. Prior to joining the Texans, he was the 49ers’ passing-game coordinator in 2022. From 2019-21, he also served as an assistant under Shanahan in San Francisco.
Slowik’s previous experience includes a three-year stint in Washington as a defensive assistant. That coaching staff saw Shanahan, Matt LaFleur, Mike McDaniel and Sean McVay coach under the legendary Mike Shanahan. Obviously, Slowik has the pedigree needed to succeed.
As for the five teams interested in him, the Atlanta Falcons are favored to land six-time Super Bowl champion head coach Bill Belichick. Meanwhile, Washington is honing in on Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.
Either way, it would not be a surprise if Bobby Slowik landed a head coach gig. He seems to be a perfect fit for young quarterback Bryce Young and the Panthers.
