Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy unleashed a scathing rant against golf legend Tiger Woods following the 50-year-old’s arrest for DUI after a rollover crash in Jupiter Island, Florida, late last week.
Authorities say the 15-time Major champion was speeding, clipped a pressure-washing truck, and rolled his vehicle. Although he blew 0.00 for alcohol, Woods displayed clear signs of impairment, failed field sobriety tests, and refused a urine test — leading to charges of DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to testing.
He was briefly held at the Martin County Jail before posting bail and was released later that evening. Portnoy addressed the incident during Monday’s episode of his Wake Up Barstool show. Suffice it to say, he has zero tolerance for Woods’ repeated driving issues.
In his fiery commentary, Portnoy argued that Woods should face jail time to “wake up” and stop endangering others on the road.
“When you get behind the wheel impaired, you’re not just putting yourself at risk. You’re putting anybody else on the road, innocent people (at risk),” Portnoy said. “You can’t really make light of it. I have no sympathy for the guy.”
“I don’t know anybody who has ever rolled a car over. This guy rolls it over every two weeks! So, you know what? Put him behind bars, put him in jail for a little bit, and make him wake up.”
"What is wrong with Tiger Woods? You gotta have someone drive you. He should have a driver with him wherever he goes, there is no excuse." – @stoolpresidente pic.twitter.com/mZmXYIcWJ6

Portnoy’s Brutal Take Demands Tiger Woods Jail Time After Latest DUI Rollover Crash
Portnoy went on to explain that everybody, including him, has their vices. But not everybody’s vices are a threat to people around them.
“I have a lot of vices. … My vices only put me in jeopardy and nobody else. When you get behind the wheel — just get a driver. It’s not hard,” he said. “Get a driver. You’re gonna kill somebody.”
Unfortunately, Tiger’s people are making it pretty clear he has no interest in hiring a driver. Sources say he does not want anyone tracking his movements or knowing his whereabouts at all times.
The golf icon insists he is perfectly capable of driving himself.
According to an anonymous source cited by gossip outlet People Magazine, Woods does not like being in the public eye. Which is super-weird, because he keeps putting himself there with his reckless behavior.
“He is not a social butterfly and prefers to hang around his home with his kids, or hitting balls, or playing video games,” the source said. “He despises public scrutiny.”
Woods has a documented history of driving incidents stretching back to 2009, when he crashed his Cadillac Escalade into a fire hydrant and tree outside his Florida home in the early morning hours following a domestic dispute. That dispute exposed his extramarital affairs and very much derailed his career.
In 2017, he was arrested for DUI after police found him asleep behind the wheel of his Mercedes with multiple prescription drugs—including Vicodin, Xanax, and Ambien—in his system; he later pleaded guilty to reckless driving and completed a diversion program.
He then suffered a near-fatal single-car rollover in Los Angeles in 2021 while speeding at over 80 mph.
This latest arrest marks another setback for Woods, who has been working hard toward a PGA Tour comeback following back surgery and an Achilles injury. Sources close to the golfer have expressed concern over his physical and mental state. His numerous injuries have seemingly caused an addiction to pain medications.
Let’s hope Tiger gets the help he needs before he ends up exactly where Portnoy is suggesting.
