New details have emerged in Tiger Woods’ DUI case that are raising serious questions about the circumstances surrounding his latest accident and the legal trouble he may be in.

DUI Pills Raise Questions in Tiger Woods Case

As Sportsnaut readers are well aware at this point, the golf legend was arrested last week after his black Range Rover crossed a double solid line into oncoming traffic, struck the rear of a pickup truck, and flipped onto its driver’s side.

The crash caused an estimated $5,000 in damage to the truck and attached trailer. Woods now faces charges of DUI with property damage as well as refusal to submit to a lawful test.

Although he blew 0.00 for alcohol, Woods displayed clear signs of impairment, failed field sobriety tests, and refused a urine test — leading to charges of DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to testing.

Now, details have emerged that will certainly raise some eyebrows amongst the public, if not amongst those interested in the legal aspect of this case.

According to the newly released arrest affidavit obtained by TMZ Sports, Woods told deputies he had not consumed any alcohol that day and was simply distracted by his cellphone and changing the radio station when the incident occurred.

He did admit to taking prescription medication earlier in the morning and stated he takes “a few” medications regularly, but insisted he had not used any illegal substances.

That said, the 15-time Major champion also allegedly had “two loose hydrocodone pills in his pocket” at the time of his arrest.

Deputies described Woods as showing multiple signs of impairment at the scene.

Deputies observed the golf legend sweating heavily in a cool air vehicle, moving slowly and lethargically, stumbling while walking (with a noticeable limp), and displaying bloodshot, glassy eyes.

They also note in the affidavit that Woods had extremely dilated pupils that failed to track smoothly.

He struggled significantly on multiple drills, including the finger-to-nose test, during which he closed his eyes at the wrong time, missed instructions, and exhibited eyelid twitching. Woods didn’t fare much better with the coordination exercises either. The report states that he started early, miscounted, missed steps, and required repeated corrections from officers.

Woods has a pretty extensive history at this point of driving erratically with medications being involved. Let’s hope he finally gets the help he needs.
