The last regular season event on the PGA Tour takes place this week to cap off the 2025 FedEx Cup Standings.

This week’s Wyndham Championship caps off 36 consecutive weeks of play to determine the first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Every player is trying to get into the top 70 to make the FedEx Cup Playoffs and keep their PGA Tour card for next year, if not already exempt.

Here is a look at the 10 biggest names on the bubble or on the outside looking in to make the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Patrick Rodgers

Let’s start with the three players just inside the top 70, beginning with Patrick Rodgers, sitting at No. 68. Rodgers, who sits at 616 points, has also missed the cut in seven of his last eight starts. As a result, he needs to make the cut at worst to continue his season for another week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Byeong Hun An

Byeong Hun An is at No. 69 in the FedEx Cup standings with 595 points. He missed the cut at the Open Championship as well as the 3M Open last week. As a result, he lost the chance to take the week off heading into the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Like Rodgers, he needs to make the cut at worst to keep his playoff hopes alive.

Matti Schmid

The last player inside the top 70 cutline heading into the final week of the regular season is Matti Schmid. Schmid sits in the final spot with 595 points. Based on the official scoring list, Schmid trails An by 0.838 points. However, Schmid is in a good spot, having made the cut in each of his last three weeks. That includes a tied-17th finish at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Nicolai Hojgaard

Nicolai Hojgaard is the first man out entering the Wyndham Championship with 590 points. Being five points behind Schmid for the final spot means Hojgaard will need to finish solo 63rd or better to earn a tee time next week. Hojgaard has momentum, recording three straight top 25 finishes. That includes a tied-fourth at the Genesis Scottish Open and a tied-14th at the Open. He also has a runner-up finish at the Zurich Classic to bolster his season resume.

Sitting one point behind Hojgaard is Keith Mitchell, with 589 points. Mitchell will need to finish solo 58th or better this week to make the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The University of Georgia alum has finished top 50 or better in four of his last six starts. This season, Mitchell recorded a runner-up finish at the Corales Puntacana Championship and has only four missed cuts in 19 starts.

Chris Kirk

PGA: U.S. Open - Third Round

Chris Kirk begins the week in 73rd place in the FedEx Cup standings with 582 points this season. Kirk needs to finish within the top 43 to compete in the FedEx Cup Playoffs for a fifth consecutive year. Kirk, who won the 2024 Sentry, has three top 15 finishes in his last five starts. That includes a tied-14th at last week’s 3M Open, a tied-12th at the U.S. Open and a runner-up at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Sitting in 74th place in the FedEx Cup standings is Christiaan Bezuidenhout with 575 points. Bezuidenhout will have to finish solo 36th or better if he wants to keep his season alive into the playoffs. The South African has five top 45 finishes in his last six starts, including a tied-12th at the U.S. Open and a tied-13th at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Gary Woodland

PGA: Charles Schwab Challenge - Third Round

Gary Woodland sits in 75th place in the FedEx Cup Standings with 562 points. He is going to need a top 25 finish to return to the playoffs. He is coming off a top 20 finish last week at the 3M Open, so if he can match that this week, he will be in. Woodland has been a comeback player to watch this season after going through brain surgery last year due to a tumor, which turned out to be benign. After having the surgery last September, he returned in January for the Sony Open.

Adam Scott

PGA: 3M Open - First Round

Adam Scott has made the FedEx Cup Playoffs every year since its inception in 2007. However, that streak is on the line because he enters this week in 85th place. As a result, he needs to finish tied for third or better if he wants to keep that streak alive. The Aussie has made the cut in 13 of his 16 starts but has yet to record a top 10 finish or contend. Now would be a good time for that breakthrough if he wants to compete in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Tom Kim

PGA: 3M Open - First Round

One final big name to watch is another Presidents Cup International Team member in Tom Kim. Like Scott, Kim finds himself on the outside looking in with 426 points and in 89th place. Kim is going to need to heat up and finish solo third or better to reach the playoffs. Kim has just one top 10 finish, which came back in February at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, tying for seventh. He will have to play some of his best golf if he wants a chance to play in the first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
