Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks are breathing a sigh of relief after the two-time NBA MVP went down with an ugly-looking knee injury during their Game 4 outing against the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals Tuesday evening.

Antetokounmpo went down in a heap in the third quarter, holding his left knee as both teams stood on the court in stunned silence. Initially, it was reported that the Greek Freak suffered a hyperextended knee. However, suggestions later in the evening led to the belief that he could have suffered a serious ACL injury.

The good news? That doesn’t appear to be the case.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, there’s no structural damage to it relates to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s left knee. And while there’s no timetable for return, ruling out an ACL injury is great news.

Prior to going down to injury Tuesday evening, Giannis was averaging 28.2 points, 12.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists in the playoffs. Once he exited the game, Atlanta went on a run to steal Game 4 of the conference finals and even the series at two.

Obviously, Giannis Antetokounmpo will not be on the court for an all-important Game 5 matchup in Milwaukee Thursday evening. How long he’s out for and whether he returns in this series remains to be seen.
