The Philadelphia Flyers acquired defenseman Erik Johnson and forward Denis Gurianov in separate deals prior to Friday’s trade deadline.

The Flyers picked up Johnson from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. They acquired Gurianov from the Nashville Predators for fellow forward Wade Allison.

Johnson, who turns 36 on March 21, recorded three goals and 24 penalty minutes in 50 games this season.

A Stanley Cup winner with Colorado in 2022, Johnson has 340 points (91 goals, 249 assists) in 970 career games with the St. Louis Blues, Avalanche and Sabres. He was selected by the Blues with the top overall pick of the 2006 NHL Draft.

Gurianov, 26, has one goal and one assist in 14 games this season with Nashville. He has 113 points (52 goals, 61 assists) in 294 career games with the Stars, Montreal Canadiens and Predators since being selected by Dallas with the 12th overall pick of the 2015 NHL Draft.

Allison, 26, played in 60 games with Philadelphia last season before spending the 2023-24 campaign with Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League. He has 10 goals and seven assists in 46 games with the Phantoms.
