
The 2025 F1 season has been a record-breaking one on television in the United States, as the sport has seen its highest viewership ever on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC platforms. The current F1 TV ratings season has delivered year-over-year growth in viewership for 11 out of 12 races.
The media giant released ratings for the British Grand Prix broadcast on Tuesday, saying the ESPN2 broadcast reached 1.5 million viewers, a 19% increase from the previous year, while establishing a new record for U.S. television viewership.

The audience reached its highest point at 1.8 million viewers during the race that saw native Brit Lando Norris win his second consecutive race. The current season has established new viewership records for seven out of 12 races, starting with Australia and continuing through China and Monaco. The Monaco Grand Prix was broadcast to the third-largest audience for Formula 1 racing in U.S. television history.
The current Formula 1 races on ESPN networks attract an average of 1.3 million viewers, representing a 17% increase from the 2024 full-season average. The 18-49 demographic watches Formula 1 races at an average of 511,000 viewers, representing a 24% increase from the 2024 full season.
Formula 1’s popularity in the United States is expected to maintain its strong growth pattern as the Belgian Grand Prix approaches on July 27th.
