With free agency looming, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and the franchise are no closer to a long-term extension. But that isn’t bothering Ezekiel Elliott.

Speaking on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football Weekend” Saturday, Elliott was confident that the matter would be resolved soon enough: “Dak’s our leader. He’s the heart and soul of our team,” Elliott said, per NFL.com. “He’s going to get his money.”

Elliott also mentioned how Prescott improved last year by “just taking his game to the next level, getting better as a player, better as a leader, just all around.”

Last summer, of course, Elliott held out of training camp for a contract extension. When his time to get paid finally came, it set a new NFL record.

Prescott is primed to do the same if he and the ‘Boys can agree on a price tag.

If that doesn’t happen before the March 10 deadline to franchise players, then rest assured, Cowboys Nation, that Prescott will receive the tag and will therefore not hit the open market.
