New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has entertained football fans for more than a decade on the field. Now, the future Hall of Famer is reportedly giving significant consideration to entertaining fans as a broadcaster when his NFL career ends.

According to The Athletic’s Jeff Duncan, Brees’ representatives met with network executives this week to explore a career in broadcasting. While the discussions are preliminary, Brees is reportedly interested in joining the broadcast booth when he retires.

Brees intends to re-sign with the Saints for the 2020 season. However, the 41-year-old quarterback is starting to give significant consideration to his career after football. It could also work out for both sides, with the Saints planning to move on from him in 2021.

Given Brees’ personality and his incredible knowledge of the game, it’s unsurprising that a television career could be in his future. Networks reportedly already reached out to Brees during the offseason, so it appears likely that he’ll follow the career path of Tony Romo.
