While Kevin Durant is seen by many as the best scorer of his generation, former teammate Draymond Green believes Kyrie Irving is the real unstoppable scorer between the two NBA superstars.

This weekend Dallas Mavericks superstar Kyrie Irving went viral when he sent the assembled fans at American Airlines Arena into a frenzy as he shockingly landed an off-hand shot at the buzzer to secure a huge win over the defending champion Denver Nuggets.

It was a moment that again confirmed why he is one of the great scorers in the game. Nevertheless, most around the NBA believe Phoenix Suns superstar and former Irving teammate Kevin Durant is the toughest guard in the league due to his unlimited range and athleticism at seven feet tall. However, Draymond Green is not a part of that group.

During a new edition of his “The Draymond Green Show” podcast, the defensive ace had a surprising take and claimed that Kyrie Irving is actually the unguardable scorer that most NBA fans and pundits believe Durant is.

Draymond Green claims Kyrie Irving is unguardable

The four-time All-Star worked against Durant in practice every day for three seasons with the Golden State Warriors and according to him “there are some things at times you can do to Kevin to make it a little tougher … There are times, because he’s seven feet, if you time it right you can pressure up and press up into Kevin and make things a little bit tougher [and] get him out of rhythm a little bit.”

However, when it comes to the 10-time All-Star the four-time champion said “You can’t do anything to make it hard on him. You can’t make the game tougher for Kyrie.” Green claimed the Mavs guard is “arguably” the best three-point and mid-range shooter in the game, as well as the best finisher. All of that mixed with the ability to finish with either hand puts him in a completely different class when it comes to scorers, above Kevin Durant.

Green and Durant have always had a strained relationship, even when they were teammates on the Warriors. Both have taken subtle or obvious shots at each other since the 16-time All-Star chose to leave Golden State behind for a big contract with the Brooklyn Nets in 2019.
