Deshaun Watson throws game-opening pick-six for the Cleveland Browns

Deshaun Watson has struggled early in his Cleveland Browns career. Dating back to last season, the three-time Pro Bowler has thrown just eight touchdowns and six interceptions in seven starts with Cleveland heading into Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Things did not start out swimmingly for Watson in this one, either. Though, it was due to no fault of his own. On the Browns’ very first offensive play of the game, tight end Harrison Bryant bobbled what seemed to be an easy intermediate pass.

The result was the ball landing in the hands of Steelers pass rusher Alex Highsmith, who returned it 30 yards for the game-opening pick-six.

These are one of the plays that will go down as an interception for the quarterback. Though, it was pretty much on Watson’s tight end.

Cleveland opened the season with a blowout 24-3 win over the Cincinnati Bengals last week. It was more about the team’s defense as Watson struggled through the air.

Deshaun Watson stats (Week 1): 55% completion, 154 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 67.3 QB rating

The Browns are going to need Watson and this offense to step up if they want to move to 2-0 for the first time since all the way back in 1993 under Bill Belichick. Obviously, the receivers need to start doing their part, too.
