DeMarcus Cousins suffers quad injury, MRI pending

Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins injured his quad trying to chase down a loose ball during Game 2 of the first round series against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Shortly after the injury, Kerith Burke of NBC Sports Bay Area reported that Cousins would not return to the game and would have an MRI on his quad within 24 hours.

The good news for Cousins and the Warriors is he did walk off the court on his own power — albeit with a limp.

The bad news is that this was the dreaded non-contact injury. Even worse is that while it’s not the same injury, this is the same leg that sidelined Cousins for the latter part of last season and the early part of this one.
