Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams throws helmet in frustration as struggles continue

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has been frustrated pretty much all season as their offense continues to struggle in pretty much every possible way.

That continued Monday night in what ended up being an ugly 26-14 road loss to the Detroit Lions.

Adams caught 1-of-7 targets for 11 yards as the Raiders moved to 3-5 on the season. It wasn’t really about the star receiver not finding himself open throughout. Simply put, Jimmy Garoppolo missed his wide receiver multiple times throughout the game.

With Vegas down by 12 in the fourth quarter, that included Garoppolo completely overthrowing Adams on a would-be touchdown.

As Adams headed to the sideline after that drive, he was seen frustrated to no end. It’s also hard to blame the veteran pass-catcher.

“I honestly don’t know what to say at this moment, I wish I had the words to say something that’s not going to get blown up in the media and taken out of context,” Davante Adams said after the game.

When all was said and done Monday night, Garoppolo had completed 4-of-12 passes for 49 yards to his wide receivers in the game. In fact, the veteran quarterback tallied 77 net passing yards on 21 pass attempts after being sacked six times.

For Adams, this frustration is nothing new. He has not been quiet about his frustration over the Raiders’ struggles on offense.

“I’m not here just to hang out…I came here to win and to do it the right way. So, if it don’t look like it’s supposed to look, then I’m going to be frustrated if I’m not a part of that plan. Because I have the opportunity to go and change that and make it look like a much better picture out there. And if that doesn’t happen, then I’m going to be frustrated. It’s not about me, but I’m one of the bigger pieces as to why this offense is going to go.”

Despite Adams’ issues and the Raiders’ 3-5 record, there are no plans to deal him ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.

With that said, his reaction following Monday’s brutal loss will tell us a lot about the receiver’s relationship with both his quarterback and the organization moving forward. As of right not, it doesn’t seem to be good.
