Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers were teammates for eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers. But once the All-Pro receiver had a chance at free agency, Adams and the Packers couldn’t agree on the star receiver’s contract value.

Perhaps seeing the writing on the wall with Rodgers set to depart the very next season, Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. We’ve since seen Adams miss the playoffs in both of his years in Vegas.

While Rodgers hasn’t made the playoffs since either, their former team, the Green Bay Packers, led by Jordan Love, did reach the postseason, and they even won a Wild Card game.

Now, looking back, Adams says he doesn’t have any regrets about being traded from the Packers, yet, he also sounds like he’s in awe of Love’s success in Green Bay.

“In hindsight, like we talked about, the kid is a fu–ing baller, man. I’m so happy for him. I haven’t had the chance to truly sit down and talk with him, but I want to tell him at some point ‘I definitely don’t regret changing, but I’m super proud of what you’ve done. If there was a way I could pull you over here and drag you with me that would have been cool too.’ Because, obviously, we saw what he did at the end of the year. I don’t regret what I did, but, at the same time, it’s definitely you look back on it like ‘damn that boy kind of balling right now.’”

For Adams, it’s hard not to look elsewhere while the Raiders search for their next franchise quarterback. After all, the circumstances in Las Vegas have changed drastically since Adams arrived, when he was paired with his old pal and former college teammate in Derek Carr. Now armed with Gardner Minshew III and Aidan O’Connell, the future in Vegas looks much different.
