Expectations are that the Bears will trade Justin Fields, and then select Caleb Williams first overall, but one former NFL QB turned football analyst thinks Chicago’s front office should take a different approach this offseason.

While many analysts and experts expect the Chicago Bears to make Caleb Williams their top selection, ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky is proposing an alternative idea that is sure to ruffle feathers in the Windy City.

“Jayden Daniels should be the guy. If I were the Chicago Bears right now I would take Jayden Daniels out of LSU.”

Orlovsky stated his case on Thursday’s edition of ‘Get Up.’

While Jayden Daniels did win the Heisman Trophy in 2023, showing he’s capable of making massive strides in his development. But is he better, or does he have a higher ceiling than Caleb Williams? That’s just one decision the Bears will have to make over the next few months.

If Daniels was the pick, it would be one of the most surprising draft choices in recent memory, but we’re not suggesting the electric playmaker wouldn’t be worth it.
