Dan Marino working out with Lamar Jackson during visit with the Dolphins

Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson is one of the most intriguing players in the 2018 NFL draft

Having already named Ryan Tannehill their starting quarterback for next season, most figured the Miami Dolphins would look in another direction during the first round of this month’s NFL Draft. That might not be the case. Linked to some of the top quarterbacks in the class, the Dolphins are hosting former Heisman winner Lamar Jackson for a visit on Friday.

Not only that, all-time great Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino is at the complex to work out with Jackson.

If that doesn’t indicate a real interest on the Dolphins’ part, we’re not too sure what does.

Selecting 11th overall, there’s a strong chance Jackson will be available to the Dolphins should they decide to go in that direction. Opinions of the quarterback are split, primarily via generational lines. Some think that Jackson should play receiver at the next level. Others believe he has what it takes to be a franchise quarterback.

What we do know is that Jackson remains one of the most intriguing stories heading into the annual NFL Draft in Dallas later in April. Whether that means he’ll be headed to South Beach remains to be seen.
