When Micah Parsons was just starting his NFL career after becoming the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, some thought he looked too small to hold up in the pros. Boy, how they were wrong.
Parsons has since become a two-time All-Pro, developing into one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL, finding success by being lightning quick. The 25-year-old has racked up double-digit sack campaigns in all four of his seasons as a pro, but now he’s entering the final year of his rookie contract, which means it’s time for him to get paid.

Dallas Cowboys prepared to make Micah Parsons NFL’s highest-paid non-QB

Micah Parsons’ fifth-year contract option takes effect this season, which bumps his pay from the $5.4 million cap hit he held in 2024 to a $24 million cap number in 2025. While that’s a sizable bump, his next pay increase is expected to be record-breaking.
According to Clarence Hill of All City DLLS, the Cowboys have already offered to make Parsons the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Interestingly enough, the Cowboys’ latest offer did not include Parsons’ agent David Mulugheta in the negotiations and Parsons will not sign without his agent’s approval.
Team owner Jerry Jones apparently doesn’t even know Parsons’ agent’s name, which stirred up some controversy.
Jerry Jones says he doesn’t worry about agents in contract talks. He’s been having conversations directly with Micah Parsons about his next deal. He said Micah is one of a very few people who have his cell phone number pic.twitter.com/DCORGH7z7v

Facts!! David is the best and I will not be doing any deal without @DavidMulugheta involved! Like anyone with good sense I hired experts for a reason. There is no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating contracts than David! There will be no backdoors in this contract… https://t.co/nxKNSIXLvt

Terms of Parsons’ contract offer have not been revealed. However, we can look at another recently signed extension to get a better idea of what type of money Parsons may be looking at.
Being that Ja’Marr Chase recently signed a contract that earns him an annual average salary of $40.25 million, the Cowboys have a high bar to clear.
