Clayton Keller and Nick Bjugstad each had a goal and an assist and the visiting Arizona Coyotes handed the host Detroit Red Wings their seventh consecutive loss, 4-1, on Thursday night.

Logan Cooley and Michael Carcone had the other goals for the Coyotes, who defeated the Red Wings for the second time in less than a week. They blanked Detroit 4-0 in Arizona on Friday with Connor Ingram making 28 saves.

Ingram stopped 28 shots on Thursday. Arizona’s only victories in its last six outings have come at the Red Wings’ expense.

Detroit’s slide is its longest since a 10-game losing streak during November and December 2019. Lucas Raymond scored the Red Wings’ lone goal, while Alex Lyon made 23 saves.

The Red Wings have been outscored 36-12 during the current slide, which followed a six-game winning streak.

The Coyotes’ didn’t have a shot on goal until Cooley’s short-handed tally at 5:10 in the first period. With Keller in the penalty box for hooking, Cooley collected Dylan Guenter’s pass at center ice and beat Lyon with a backhanded shot.

The Red Wings broke through with two minutes remaining in the period during their third power-play attempt. With Michael Kesselring in the penalty box for tripping, Raymond ripped a one-timer off a Patrick Kane pass. Raymond’s shot bounced off Ingram’s right shoulder and inside the crossbar. Shayne Gostisbehere collected the second assist.

Carcone’s goal came at 8:36 of the second period to give Arizona a 2-1 advantage. He deflected Alex Kerfoot’s shot from the point. Matias Maccelli had the second assist.

Keller nearly extended the lead later in the period, as his shot hit the left post.

There weren’t a lot of quality chances for either side until Bjugstad scored midway through the third. His shot from the slot bounced off Lyon’s glove and trickled into the net. Nick Schmaltz and Keller were credited with the assists.

Keller’s empty-netter with 3:04 remaining clinched Arizona’s win. Bjugstad and Travis Dermott had the assists.
