Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story activated from injured list

The Colorado Rockies activated shortstop Trevor Story from the 10-day injured list prior to Thursday night’s road game against the Miami Marlins.

Infielder Alan Trejo was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque following Wednesday night’s 4-3 win in Miami.

Story, 28, landed on the IL on May 29 with right elbow inflammation. He is batting .255 with five homers and 23 RBIs in 50 games this season, his sixth campaign with the Rockies.

The two-time All-Star is two RBIs shy of 400 for his career. Story is a .275 lifetime hitter with 139 homers and 88 stolen bases in 653 games.

Trejo, 25, made his major league debut on April 10 and batted .244 with one homer and three RBIs in 26 games with Colorado.
