Wing Terrence Shannon Jr. has been a fixture on the college basketball scene since starring as a freshman for Texas Tech back in 2019-20.
Shannon took his game to a new level once he transferred to Illinois ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. But now, it looks like his college career could be over after some damning allegations.
Per college basketball insider Jeff Goodman, Shannon Jr. has been suspended by the Illini after being charged with rape in Kansas.
“On Wednesday, the Douglas (Kansas) County District Attorney issued a warrant for the arrest of Terrence Shannon Jr. Per policy, the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) has suspended Shannon from all team activities, effective immediately,” report on Terrence Shannon Jr. being suspended.
The alleged incident happened when Shannon Jr. visited Lawrence to attend the Illinois-Kansas football game in early September. He apparently traveled to Lawrence on Thursday to turn himself in and posted bail.

A four-star recruit out of Florida, Shannon Jr. was considered a potential All-American performer prior to this troubling off-court news.
Most outlets have the 6-foot-6 wing as a late first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Obviously, that’s the least of the concerns right now after the troubling allegations and charges.
