Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard in, Paul George out for Wednesday

We’re not yet sure when new teammates Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will make their debut together with the Los Angeles Clippers.

It just won’t be Wednesday night against the Rockets in Houston. Returning from offseason shoulder surgeries, George will be held out for at least one more game. Meanwhile, Leonard is good to go for the front end of the Clippers’ third back-to-back this season.

It was reported earlier in the week that George would make his debut during Los Angeles’ two-game road trip. That could come as early as Thursday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Even if that were to happen, he’d still have to wait to play with Leonard. Los Angeles has made it clear that the reigning NBA Finals MVP will not play both ends of back-to-backs this season.

It has been a point of contention around the NBA, especially with the league just fining Los Angeles $50,000.

Either way, the earliest we’ll see George and Leonard on the court together will be Saturday evening against the Atlanta Hawks.
