Now, the Browns are swinging for the fences again, with another former Alabama Crimson Tide receiver who was once viewed as a potential rising star.
Denver Broncos trade Jerry Jeudy to Cleveland Browns for peanuts
Rumors of a potential Jerry Jeudy trade grew legs ahead of last season’s NFL trade deadline. Yet, for whatever reason, the Broncos held onto the 15th overall pick from 2020, possibly in hopes that he could turn his season around.
But Jeudy went the entire season without topping 100 receiving yards, and now the Broncos are done with him.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Broncos have agreed to trade Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns for a 2024 fifth and sixth-round pick. The move also clears $12.9 million in cap space for Denver.
Meanwhile, the Browns are getting a soon-to-be 25-year-old receiver who never quite developed the way many expected after starring at Alabama. Jeudy is in the final year of his rookie contract, which means the Browns are essentially renting him for a season, trying to see if he can enjoy a breakout season.
While Jeudy never lived up to his draft slot, or at least not yet, he’s still been a productive receiver.
