Coming off their second Super Bowl win in a row, can Chris Jones and the Kansas City Chiefs make history and become the first team to win three Lombardi Trophies in a row?
But first, with the two-time All-Pro set for free agency, the Chiefs need to address their star defensive lineman’s contract situation, much like last offseason. However, in Jones’ mind, the decision has already been made.

Chris Jones says he ‘needs three rings’ with Kansas City Chiefs
While celebrating at the latest Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade, Chris Jones took time to let Chiefs Kingdom know that he’s not planning on leaving any time soon. In fact, Jones says he’ll be back, celebrating a Chiefs three-peat next season.
“I need three of those rings baby,. We ain’t done yet. We ain’t done yet. Kansas City, we will be back here next year. And for those who want Chris Jones gone, I ain’t going nowhere, baby! Woo! I wanna be here this year, next year and the year after.”

Jones was also set for free agency last offseason and even held out of the first game of the season while awaiting a better contract offer. Before Week 2 kicked off, Jones agreed to play on a one-year, $19.5 million contract.
A season ago, Jones’ cap charge ranked 11th among defensive tackles. Yet, Spotrac indicates his market value is closer to $28.4 million.
Jones already has his heart set on returning for a chance to make Super Bowl history, and seeing how the Chiefs reward their best defensive playmaker will be a fascinating storyline to watch play out this offseason.
