After local news station KCTV5 in Kansas City released a bombshell audio tape on Thursday night between Tyreek Hill and his wife about the abuse of their 3-year-old child, the Chiefs put out a statement on Friday morning.

The Statement: Following comments from Chiefs general manager Brett Veach on Thursday after the draft, the team has now followed with a printed statement.

The Suspension: After previously maintaining his innocence earlier this month about the allegations, Hill is now suspended indefinitely from the team.

Potential Precedent: While the Chiefs have not released Hill, the team released running back Kareem Hunt during the season after video of his assault came out.

Any potential league discipline is unlikely to come down any time soon, though it wouldn’t be a surprise if the NFL placed Hill on the Commissioner Exempt List in the near future.
