The Kansas City Chiefs and star receiver Tyreek Hill received some good news on Wednesday when authorities in Kansas noted that he would not be charged in connection with multiple alleged child abuse incidents.

While the authorities do believe that a crime was committed, they were not able to find enough evidence to charge Hill.

Hours after that presser, the Chiefs released a statement about the situation.

“This afternoon we were informed that Tyreek Hill will not be charged by the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office,” the statement read. “Due to the continued investigation by the Department for Children and Families, we have no further comment at this time.”

That’s pretty much a company line response from the Chiefs right there. In addition to the ongoing investigation mentioned above, the DA’s office clearing Hill does not mean that the NFL will decline to discipline him.

All the while, Hill’s child was taken from his custody earlier in the month. That’s the investigation the Chiefs referenced above.
