WATCH: Chicago Sky win over the Connecticut Sun

In a game that could gave put the Connecticut Sun in a tie for the second-best record in the WNBA, they come up short, losing 81-75 to the Chicago Sky.

The Chicago Sky have won each of their last four games since Candace Parker returned to the lineup following a lengthy absence due to an ankle injury.

The win improves the Sky’s overall record to 6-7. Meanwhile, the Connecticut Sun lose consecutive games for the first time this season and dropped to 8-4.

Kaleah Cooper led the Sky with 18 points and eight rebounds followed by Candace Parker contributing 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Diamond DeShields filled up the stat sheet, recording 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Courtney Vandersloot recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists along with four rebounds and four steals while Allie Quigley scored 11 points off the bench.

Jasmine Thomas led the Sun with a game-high 20 points along with four assists. Kalla Charles posted 15 points and seven rebounds while Natisha Hiedman scored 13 points off the bench. Through a rough shooting night, Dewanna Bonner had an all-around performance with 10 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals.

Both teams struggled shooting from the field in the first quarter with each shooting under 40% in the period. Finding themselves down 14-9 with 3:16 remaining, the Sun ended the quarter on a 10-2 run to take a three point lead.

The Sun kept up their momentum eventually building an eight-point lead in the second quarter. They would go into halftime leading 36-31.

The Sky turned the momentum in their favor in the third quarter outscoring the Sun 28-19 to end the quarter leading 59-55 paced by Diamond DeShields who scored eight points in the period. The Sun were unable to recover as the Sky continued to pour it on leading by as many as 14 in the fourth.
