Ohio State star defensive end Chase Young could potentially be the first overall player selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. If he leaves school, that is.
It’s widely been assumed that Young will leave Ohio State for the NFL after posting 16.5 sacks and being named a Heisman Trophy finalist, even though he missed two games due to suspension.
Yet when Young was approached by TMZ Sports and asked if he intends to return to Ohio State in 2020, he replied with, “That’s the plan.”
Wait. What?
If he declares for the 2020 NFL Draft, Young will be a top-three pick almost certainly. He has NFL scouts drooling over his ability to create havoc off the edge, and many believe he’s even better than San Francisco 49ers rookie and former Buckeyes star Nick Bosa.
If Young did, in fact, eschew the NFL for another season at Ohio State, it would be one of the most shocking developments in recent memory.
