The Los Angeles Chargers, already down a top playmaker on offense with the latest season-ending injury to Hunter Henry, may not have Mike Williams in the lineup Sunday when they take on the Detroit Lions.
Or, perhaps they will.
Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said that Williams will be a game-time decision, per Eric D Williams of ESPN: “I just need to see that he can go out and play, and not hurt himself,” Lynn said. “He has a couple more days, so we’ll go day by day.”
Williams, who was the seventh overall pick in 2017, missed six games of his rookie season with a back injury. He appeared in all 16 games last season and is expected to take on a much bigger role in 2019 after the Chargers lost Tyrell Williams to Oakland in free agency.
During the team’s Week 1 game against Indianapolis, however, Williams caught just two passes for 29 yards.
