The Carolina Panthers are reportedly one of three teams set to soon meet with one-time Pro Bowler Chase Young.
The first day of NFL free agency 2024 was an eventful one for the Panthers. They addressed the weaknesses they had on the offensive line by signing guards Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis to a pair of sizable contracts. However, they also freed up cap space for those moves and more by trading two-time Pro Bowler Brian Burns to the New York Giants.

The move was made after the man who was the team’s top pick in 2019 was unable to come to terms on a new long-term contract with the organization. While the move has some financial and draft benefits, it still leaves a massive hole in the Carolina pass rush for next season.
To fill that hole it looks like the organization has zeroed in on a specific one-time Pro Bowler who just competed in this past season’s Super Bowl. On Tuesday, NFL Media league insider Tom Pelissero reported “Chase Young is expected to visit the Panthers and Saints this week.” A separate report also claims the Titans will also be a stop on Young’s free-agent tour.

The Ohio State star exploded onto the scene in 2020 as he earned his only trip to the Pro Bowl and Defensive Rookie of the Year honors as a member of the Washington Commanders. However, a torn ACL limited him to just 11 games in the following two seasons.
He played in 16 games last year but was not the same dominant force that he was in 2020 while he split the season between the Commanders and 49ers. However, at just 24 years old, it is understandable why there are many teams interested in seeing if Chase Young can get back to that elite level with their teams in 2024.
