Cardinals suspend EVP and COO Ron Minegar six weeks without pay

The Arizona Cardinals’ front office has once again found itself in the news for all the wrong reasons. Executive Vice President and COO Ron Minegar was arrested in Chandler on Aug. 10 for a DUI.

Minegar’s arrest comes after Cardinals general manager Steve Keim was suspended by the team following a DUI arrest of his own back in July of 2018.

This has also led to the Cardinals suspending Mr. Minegar six weeks without pay, per Katherine Fitzgerald of the Arizona Republic.

“Minegar, who has been away from the team since the August 10th incident, will not be able to return until he has completed several additional steps,” the Cardinals said in a statement. “These include but are not limited to an alcohol assessment, counseling and mandatory DUI education as well as community service.”

Should he complete the following steps, Minegar will be able to return at some point in October. But there’s no clear cut return date based on the Cardinals’ statement.
