Cardinals name Josh Rosen starting QB

It’s now official. Of the four quarterbacks that were selected in the top 10 of the 2018 NFL Draft, all four will start this coming week.

Fresh off the Cleveland Browns naming Baker Mayfield their starter for next week’s game against the Oakland Raiders, the Arizona Cardinals will now be turning to a first-year signal caller to start.

Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks announced on Monday that rookie No. 10 pick Josh Rosen will get the start next week against Seattle in favor of struggling veteran Sam Bradford.

Rosen replaced Bradford under center with his team attempting a comeback against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. While the UCLA product failed in that attempt, it became clear that a cellar-dwelling Cardinals team had decided to move on from Bradford as its starter.

In less than 12 full quarters of action, Bradford led Arizona to a grand total of 20 points and 28 first downs. During that span, the injury-plagued former No. 1 pick completed 50-of-80 passes for just 400 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions.

At 0-3 on the year, Arizona is pretty much playing for beyond the 2018 season. That’s where Rosen and his upside comes into play.

Also worth noting, Bradford is due $312,000 in bonus cash for every game he’s active this season. That could play a role in his status with the team moving forward.
