The Arizona Cardinals found themselves down 26-23 late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. Kyler Murray had to get his team in field goal range on a drive that started at their own 25 with just over 30 seconds left.
Apparently, Murray and stud pass-catcher DeAndre Hopkins were not playing for overtime. With just 11 seconds left and the ball at Buffalo’s 43, Murray scrambled to buy time. Hopkins ran down field toward the end zone. The culmination of this play (and the game) has to be seen to be believed.
DeAndre Hopkins stunning game-winning catch
Yes, that’s Hopkins coming down with the ball in between three Bills defenders for the win. What an absolutely amazing catch. Equally as important, Murray bought time while scrambling to his left. He also threw a strike more than 43 yards down the field.

On the other hand, what was Buffalo’s defense doing here? Just bat the ball down and the game is over.
By virtue of this shocking win, Arizona moves to 6-3 on the season and is in a first-place tie with the Seahawks and Rams in the NFC West. Buffalo drops to 7-3 and is just a half game ahead of Miami in the AFC East. Talk about a season-defining play for both teams.
Twitter had its reactions, too. Some of the reactions included the Houston Texans’ decision to trade DeAndre Hopkins in the first place last spring.
