Canadiens’ Jake Evans, Alexander Romanov enter protocol

Montreal Canadiens forward Jake Evans and defenseman Alexander Romanov were placed in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol ahead of Saturday afternoon’s game against the host Florida Panthers.

The Canadiens now have 16 players and goaltending coach Eric Raymond in the COVID-19 protocol. Forwards Brandon Baddock, Paul Byron, Laurent Dauphin, Mike Hoffman, Artturi Lehkonen and Tyler Toffoli join defensemen Louie Belpedio, Ben Chiarot, Joel Edmundson, Gianni Fairbrother, Jeff Petry and Chris Wideman, and goaltenders Jake Allen and Cayden Primeau also are on the list.

Evans, 25, has recorded six points (four goals, two assists) in 27 games this season.

Romanov, 21, has six points (two goals, four assists) in 32 games this season.
