Monday’s Elite Eight matchup between No. 3 seed LSU Tigers and No. 1 seed Iowa Hawkeyes couldn’t have started any better. A rematch of last year’s women’s basketball NCAA Tournament championship featured top-notch intensity and a breakneck pace on both ends of the floor.

Naturally, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese were the two biggest focal points, but their teammates came to play too. After all, you don’t get this far in March Madness without playing team basketball.

Yet, while these may be two of the best teams in the nation, only one could advance to the Final Four again.

Amazingly, Clark didn’t even sub out of the game. She played all 40 minutes in Iowa’s 94-87 win over LSU.

In doing so, Clark sank nine threes, many of which were from far behind the 3-point line; they would have been good in the WNBA and maybe even the NBA on some.
