Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark entered Monday’s outing against the Connecticut Sun coming off her best performance.

Despite losing by 11 points to the New York Liberty on Saturday, Clark put up 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting. She added six rebounds and eight assists.

With Indiana at 0-3 on the young WNBA season, the hope was that the team would be able to pull off a win in front of its home crowd.

The Fever played a superior Sun team close throughout, ultimately falling by the score of 88-84. For her part, Clark scored 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting while adding five assists. She also nailed a three from the logo.

Unfortunately, things were not great for Clark throughout the game. She suffered an ugly-looking ankle injury in the first half. While Clark was able to return after halftime, the injury itself did not look great.

Clark was also frustrated with non-calls throughout the evening. She even lashed out at officials with a NSFW rant before receiving a technical.

Learning curves have certainly become part of Clark’s first four WNBA games. She’s turned the ball over a total of 26 times in four games. Frustration also now appears to be mounting on her part. Monday’s game was a prime example of this.
