Browns’ rookie DE Myles Garrett diagnosed with foot sprain

The Cleveland Browns got some pretty good news on Sunday. After being forced from minicamp this week due to a foot injury, rookie No. 1 pick Myles Garrett was seen wearing a walking boot on Friday. This set into motion fears of a long-term injury.

Fortunetely, it looks like the Browns dodged a major bullet here. Garrett went to see a doctor recently and was diagnosed with a lateral foot sprain. He’s expected to be back in time for training camp.

Remember, Garrett suffered an ankle injury in the same foot with Texas A&M last season. There was some concern that this might have been an extension of said injury. It isn’t.

While Cleveland won’t be contending for a playoff spot after a one-win 2016 campaign, it surely wants the talented Garrett 100 percent and ready to make an impact. That’s likely still going to be the case following Saturday’s news.
