Browns rookie DE Myles Garrett wearing walking boot

Myles Garrett Cleveland Browns practice

The top pick in this year’s NFL Draft could be slowed down for the remainder of the summer, if not longer. Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett injured his foot during minicamp earlier this week. He missed the team’s last practice of the session and was being evaluated by doctors.

Now comes this rather disturbing piece of information Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com noting that Garrett was in a walking boot while greeting fans at Cleveland Hopkins Airport in Friday.

“Myles Garrett is in a left walking boot and his friend and fellow rookie defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi said Friday that the Browns’ No. 1 pick is taking it one day at a time and will ‘bounce back’ from the injury he suffered Wednesday on the second day of mandatory minicamp,” Cabot reported.

While we are not too sure about the extent of the injury, it is on the same leg that Garrett suffered a high-ankle sprain with Texas A&M last season.

We’ll definitely have updates on this story moving forward. The hope here is that Garrett will be back by the start of training camp later this summer.
