Cleveland Browns injury report: Odell Beckham Jr. has serious knee injury

NFL Rumors: Cleveland Browns, Odell Beckham Jr.

The Cleveland Browns came out on top against the Cincinnati Bengals in comeback fashion during Sunday’s NFL Week 7 action. Unfortunately, Cleveland had to go most of the way without star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

OBJ suffered a knee injury on Baker Mayfield’s interception to open the game. While the Pro Bowler was initially questionable to return, the Browns almost immediately ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

We now have more information on this. It’s not great.

Browns injury report: Fear is that Odell Beckham Jr. suffered serious knee injury

It’s way too early to speculate on the severity of the injury or what ligament might be impacted. What we do know is that teammates noticed after the game that Beckham Jr. was distraught. That’s obviously a sign that is not a short-term injury.

This also raises questions about Beckham’s future in Cleveland. Reports earlier this season indicated that the Browns might look to trade him. He’s struggled finding a connection with Mayfield since the Browns added the star receiver in a blockbuster trade ahead of the 2019 NFL season.

Cleveland Browns rumors: Has Odell Beckham Jr. played his last game with the Browns?

Again, we’re not going to speculate on the severity of the injury. An MRI on Monday should, however, confirm what the Browns fear to be true.

If that’s the case, there’s a chance that Beckham Jr. has indeed played his final game as a member of the Browns. At 5-2 on the season, Cleveland was not going to deal OBJ ahead of the Nov. 3 trade deadline. Speculation surrounding a trade included him being traded after the season.

Of course, this is all rumors right now.

Beckham Jr., entered Sunday’s game having recorded 23 receptions for 319 yards and three touchdowns in six games.
