Brett Favre ‘absolutely’ not interested in saving Packers’ season

Brett Favre

Ever since Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with what’s being called a broken collarbone early on Sunday, speculation about who might replace him has run wild around the NFL world.

Would Tony Romo come out of retirement? Maybe, the Packers would call on Wisconsin native Colin Kaepernick to save their season. Both seem like unrealistic long shots. But neither compares to the idea that a 48-year-old Brett Favre might be interested in returning to Green Bay.

Really. It’s a thing. Just ask former ESPN NFL insider Ed Werder — a man that is more connected to Favre than any other reporter in the NFL. In fact, Werder reached out to Favre for a comment about a potential return to the NFL.

Unfortunately for those Packers fans still clinging to their No. 4 jerseys, Favre himself is in no way interested.

That’s probably a good thing. Not only is the soon-to-be AARP member enjoying his post-football life in Mississippi, he’d have a lot of work to do in order to get back into game shape.

No joke.

So, as it stands the Packers are likely going to be rolling with young quarterback Brett Hundley for the remainder of the season. He threw three interceptions in Green Bay’s 23-10 road loss to Minnesota on Sunday.

Fun times in Green Bay, indeed.
