AWSN, the All Women’s Sports Network, is delivering its first live women’s professional boxing event, packed with intriguing regional matchups.

The two-hour show, titled “Queen of the Ring,” will be broadcast on February 28, starting at 5 p.m. Eastern time from the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.

It’s in partnership with Manny Pacquiao Promotions and includes three fights. The headliner is Shera Mae Patricio, 23, with a 7-0 unbeaten record that includes three KOs. Patricio is up against former world champion Maribel Ramirez in a six-round super flyweight matchup at 115 pounds.

Why this matters now

AWSN’s CEO George Chung said the move to show boxing is a way to put future champions on a platform that’s already scaling. Chung has a long history in women’s boxing promotion, including backing notable fighters and staging landmark events earlier in his career.

According to Nielsen, interest in women’s sports has been climbing, and that momentum is exactly what free, ad-supported channels like AWSN want to capture.

Sportsnaut previously reported that AWSN programming has been positioned around a large annual volume of women’s sports, making it easier for casual viewers to drop in without committing to another subscription.

Damiana Andrello vs. Jessica Maltez is another super flyweight bout, set for four rounds. It’s a clean regional clash, New York vs. Minnesota.

AWSN’s release states that Andrello earned her first pro win on Dec. 6 in a unanimous decision over Keya Reed-Redmond.

The other fight on the undercard is Katrina Scalzo against Michelle Cook in a four-round super lightweight fight at 140 pounds.

AWSN says Scalzo is 29, from Utica, and this is her pro debut in front of a hometown crowd. One amateur bout, then straight into the pros.

How to watch

Tuning in to watch the fights is easy and cost-free. The easiest solution is via the Pluto TV app, which includes a dedicated AWSN channel that’s free to watch.
