Oleksandr Usyk, one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time is open to the idea of fighting for Dana White in his new boxing promotion.
Earlier this month, a moment that had been rumored and speculated about for years had come to pass. UFC boss Dana White revealed he was officially back in the boxing game with Saudi Arabia promoter Turki Alalsheikh. The cage fighting CEO began his career in fight sports in boxing and had long suggested he would like to return to the sweet science. Now it is happening.
Since the reveal of the new fight promotion that will follow the same model as the UFC, many fight fans have wondered what boxers could potentially join the roster. Well, it seems that the best heavyweight on the planet is supportive of White’s new endeavor and wouldn’t mind working for him.
Oleksandr Usyk calls Dana White’s new boxing promotion an ‘amazing idea’

“Amazing, amazing idea,” Usyk told Al Arabiya News this week. “I think His Excellency [Alalsheikh] is doing a lot for the sport. It is wonderful that new initiatives are created and I support it. Many people think things may not work, but it is important to do new things. Always.
“I am not against it, but I haven’t been invited to participate in this league. But if such a proposal comes through, my team and I will seriously consider it.”
- Oleksandr Usyk record: 23-0 (14 knockouts)
Oleksandr Usyk does not have many years left in the sport. But if he can take part in a card for an event White is promoting, that would be a massive coup for the next promotion. News on fighters on the roster and a broadcast deal are expected to be revealed later this year.
