Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen knows a thing or two about making plays in both the passing game and on the ground. The Arizona Cardinals found that out first hand early during their Week 10 matchup Sunday afternoon.
However, it’s not what you think. Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll went with some trickery about halfway through the first quarter with his team down 3-0.
It resulted in a 12-yard touchdown catch for Allen on a pass from wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie. It was also a thing of beauty.
Bills QB Josh Allen with great TD catch
We really want to give Allen credit for his hands and athleticism here. With that said, the play call was just perfection. The blocking was also great down the field.
An MVP candidate earlier this season, Josh Allen had struggled to an extent prior to turning it up in last week’s win over the Seattle Seahawks. He’s now making another NFC West defense look foolish.
Only three players in NFL history have registered a passing, rushing and receiving touchdown in the same game. That includes Hall of Fame running backs Walter Payton and LaDainian Tomlinson as well as wide receiver David Patten. Josh Allen could very well become the first NFL quarterback to accomplish this feat.
Stay tuned.
