Avs acquire F Casey Mittelstadt from Sabres for D Bowen Byram

The Colorado Avalanche acquired forward Casey Mittelstadt from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for defenseman Bowen Byram on Wednesday.

Mittelstadt, 25, recorded 47 points (14 goals, 33 assists) in 62 games this season.

He has totaled 186 points (62 goals, 124 assists) in 339 career games since being selected by the Sabres with the eighth overall pick of the 2017 NHL Draft.

Byram, 22, has collected 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) and 40 penalty minutes in 55 games this season.

He has totaled 63 points (23 goals, 40 assists) and 113 penalty minutes in 146 career games since being selected by the Avalanche with the fourth overall pick of the 2019 NHL Draft.
